Camp El Tesoro de la Vida

For the past 10 years, I have served as one of six therapists for Camp El Tesoro de la Vida (“The Treasure of Life”), a one-week resident camp for children grieving the loss of a significant other. Sponsored by Campfire USA, Camp El Tesoro de la Vida has been in existence since 1988. The camp serves boys and girls ages 6 to 17. ETDLV is a camp like any other in that children participate in traditional camping activities like swimming, horseback and arts & crafts just to name a few. It is unique in that each child in attendance has experienced the death of a loved one. This year, camp is held from Sunday, July 31 through Saturday, August 7. If you know of a child that might benefit from this unique and special camp experience, you can contact Lydia Goetz at Campfire USA at (817) 831-2111 to inquire about application.
